E così, tra una cosa e l’altra, ho superato i due terzi del nuovo romanzo. Ormai ho recuperato quasi completamente il ritardo accumulato nelle vacanze di Pasqua e proseguo di buon passo nella stesura del diciassettesimo capitolo.
La soddisfazione più grande è stata avere una specie di illuminazione nel capitolo precedente, qualcosa a cui è strano non avessi pensato prima. Eppure si tratta di una cosa così evidente! Comunque, vedremo come si evolverà la storia: nonostante avessi fatto uno schema piuttosto preciso, quattro anni fa, alcune cose le sto cambiando, altre le sto aggiungendo, altre ancora togliendo. Insomma, il romanzo non sta mutando del tutto aspetto, ma di certo non è qualcosa di scolpito nella roccia. Dovrò far tesoro di questa esperienza e protrarla anche in fase di revisione, quando avrò terminato. Cosa che penso (e spero) di fare nel giro di un mesetto circa.
Se poi riuscissi a trovargli anche un titolo, di certo non guasterebbe: non mi viene in mente nulla di decente e non so se è un male…

And so I passed two-thirds of the new novel. Now I have recovered almost completely the delay from the Easter holidays and I’m proceeding with a good step in the preparation of the seventeenth chapter.
The greatest satisfaction was having a kind of enlightenment in the previous chapter, something that is strange I had not thought of before. Yet it is something so obvious! However, we’ll see how the story will unfold: although I wrote down a rather precise pattern, four years ago, I’m changing some things, adding others, removing even others. In short, the novel aspect is not changing at all, but certainly it isn’t something carved in stone. I’ll have to build on this experience and continue in the review phase, when I’ll finish it. A goal I think (and hope) to accomplish within about a month.
And if I could find a title, certainly it won’t be bad: I cannot think of anything decent and I do not know if it’s a bad thing…
