Sarò molto breve: credo che oggi non sia il giorno per sprecare troppe parole, si dovrebbe solo meditare e ricordare. 65 anni fa il CLNAI (Comitato di Liberazione Nazionale Alta Italia) emise un appello per l’insurrezione armata nella città di Milano e fu l’inizio della liberazione del nostro paese dall’oppressione di un regime fascista che lo aveva messo in ginocchio. Un regime che, sia pure appoggiato a lungo dalla popolazione, aveva trascinato l’Italia in una guerra devastante a fianco di uno dei peggiori dittatori della storia dell’uomo e che aveva ridotto i confini della libertà delle persone. Lo ricordo per i soliti manipolatori in malafede, nel CLNAI non c’erano solo i comunisti, ma c’erano anche cattolici, membri del Partito d’Azione, socialisti, liberali: tutta gente che avrebbe contribuito a costituire la Repubblica come l’abbiamo conosciuta fino a qualche tempo fa (ricordo anche che la Repubblica non ha 150 anni di vita, come qualche distratto ha detto). Sono passati 65 anni: il numero di anni necessari per andare in pensione. Ma la libertà non può e non deve andare in pensione. MAI. Nemmeno facendo finta che non sia così e cercando di limitarla di nascosto. Ricordatelo tutti e ricordate in quanti sono morti per garantirci quella libertà che ora in troppi, nella propria ignoranza, stanno accettando di perdere.

Very briefly: I believe that today isn’t the day to waste too many words, we should only meditate and remember. 65 years ago CLNAI (National Liberation Committee Upper Italy) issued a call for armed insurrection in the city of Milan and that was the beginning of the liberation of our country from oppression by a fascist regime that had brought Italy to its knees. A regime that was well supported by the population for a long time, that dragged Italy into a devastating war on the side of one of the worst dictators in human history and that had reduced the boundaries of personal freedom. I remember this for the usual manipulators in bad faith, in CLNAI there were not only Communists, but there were also Catholics, members of the Action Party, Socialists, Liberals: all people who helped to establish the Republic as we known until some time ago (I also recall that the Republic has not 150 years of life, as some “distracted” said). 65 years have passed: the number of years needed to retire. But freedom can not and should not retire. NEVER. Not even pretending it is not so and trying to limit it in secret. Remember it, you all, and remember those who died for that freedom that now too many people, in their ignorance, are accepting to lose.
