Ieri, per la prima volta da tanto tempo, non sono riuscito a lavorare sul romanzo. Non ci voleva. Qui in casa tra suoceri e commissioni i momenti per potermi concentrare sono stati così sparsi e radi che mi sono perso dietro ad altre cose.
Oggi, che è Pasqua, avremo un po’ di persone a pranzo e poi nel pomeriggio dovrò riportare la piccola Stefy dalla sua mamma. Quindi anche oggi penso sia francamente difficile riuscire a scrivere qualcosa.
Spero che da domani le cose migliorino, mi fa stare male non riuscire a concentrarmi, ad avere una mezz’ora di concentrazione assoluta per calarmi di nuovo nella storia.
Intanto, ho fatto una piccola riorganizzazione: ho unito il quindicesimo e il sedicesimo capitolo che ora sono una cosa sola. Avrei finito per allungare troppo il brodo e ho come l’impressione che capiterà ancora prima della fine del romanzo. I limiti imposti dal premio non sono un problema, anche perché non esistono limiti di lunghezza massima ma solo di lunghezza minima – e quelli li ho già raggiunti. Sarà poi questione di lavoro di fino far rientrare il tutto entro dimensioni il più possibili simili a quelle della collana del premio (250000-350000 battute), ma non penso sarà un problema: più che altro, dovrò ricordarmi di non lavorare direttamente sull’originale come ho sempre fatto, ma su una copia…

Yesterday, for the first time in a long time, I couldn’t work on the novel. Damn. Here at home between in-laws and committees the moments to be able to concentrate were so scattered and sparse that I’ve been lost behind other things.
Today is Easter, we host some people for lunch and then in the afternoon I’ll bring the little Stefy by her mother. So today I think it is frankly difficult to write something.
I hope that tomorrow things will improve, I feel bad not being able to concentrate, to have a half hour of absolute concentration for going back into my story.
Meanwhile, I did a little reorganization: I joined the fifteenth and sixteenth chapter which now are one. I was going to make it weaker writing too much not-important things and I have the impression that it will happen again before the end of the novel. The limits imposed by the prize are not a problem, because there are no limits for maximum length but just for minimal length – and those I’ve already achieved. It will be thena a matter of work up to include everything within the dimensions as close as possible to those of the series (250000-350000 characters), but I don’t think this will be a problem: more than anything else, I’ll have to remember not to work directly on the original as I have always done, but on a copy …
