Riesco ancora a stupirmi della miopia di certe dichiarazioni.

Il Partito Democratico addebita al movimento di Grillo la sconfitta alle elezioni regionali in Piemonte. Si continua, imperterriti, a non volersi assumere le proprie responsabilità. Il dato numerico è inoppugnabile, è vero: se si sommassero i voti di Grillini e del centrosinistra, si otterrebbe una percentuale superiore a quella ottenuta dal candidato del centrodestra. Ma fermarsi a questo dato numerico significa vedere solo il risultato e non le motivazioni che ci sono dietro.

Trovo allucinante, anche da parte di persone che reputavo di una certa intelligenza, che non ci si ponga minimamente il problema del perché chi votava PD abbia votato il Movimento a 5 Stelle, ammesso e non concesso che sia stato così. Questi signori non mostrano di chiedersi se hanno fatto degli errori, negli anni di governo della regione o nel corso della campagna elettorale, cosa che sarebbe normale e intellettualmente onesto fare: sarebbe stato anche assai più costruttivo e di sicuro apprezzato dagli elettori.

Per questo, credo che non solo il Partito Democratico abbia perso le elezioni, ma che abbia perso anche il dopo elezioni. E finché non saprà rinnovarsi, trovare dei leader con gli attributi, tirare fuori delle idee continuerà a perdere. Il centrodestra ringrazia.

I still wonder at the shortsightedness of some statements.

The Democratic Party accuses Grillo’s movement for the defeat in regional elections in Piedmont. They continue, undaunted, not to assume their own responsibilities. The figures are crystal clear, it is true: If you add the votes given to the “Grillini” and the center-left, there would be a higher percentage than that obtained by the candidate of the center-right. But stop at these figures means only to see the result and not the reasons behind it.

I find it shocking that even people I consider of a certain intelligence don’t put the slightest question of why those who voted PD decide to vote for 5 Star Movement, given not for granted that this has been the case. These gentlemen do not show to ask themselves whether they have made mistakes over the years of government in the region or during the election campaign, which would be a normal and intellectually honest thing to do: it would have been much more constructive and certainly appreciated by voters.

For this, I believe that not only has the Democratic Party lost the elections, but has also lost the after-elections. If it won’t be able to renew itself, to find a leader “with the attributes”, to bring out new ideas, it will continue to lose. The center-right sincerely thanks.

Mentre scrivo ancora non è chiaro come andranno a finire le elezioni regionali, ma due cose sono ben chiare.

La prima è che, come temevo in un mio precedente post, il paese reale è molto diverso dal paese della Rete. Si può avere il migliore dei risultati per un evento come Raiperunanotte, ma finché resta così elevato il divario tra i numeri di chi si impegna per informarsi e chi invece preferisce una fruizione totalmente passiva, non è pensabile ottenere risultati diversi da quello che si sta profilando.

La seconda, invece, è che l’astensionismo risulta essere il primo partito. Come leggevo ieri, c’è chi ha dato la vita per garantirci il diritto al voto e la libertà della democrazia (e gli italiani hanno dimenticato troppo in fretta come mai ciò sia stato necessario): ora invece per pigrizia o per menefreghismo una sempre più larga parte della popolazione decide di non esercitare questo diritto e di non assumersi alcuna responsabilità. Discorso già fatto ieri, me ne rendo conto. Bisognerebbe capire che ai politici non interessa chi non va a votare, fossero anche il 90%: alla fine, per essere chiari, la loro sedia se la ritrovano, di destra o di sinistra. Una vergogna. E non consola che – per una volta – non siamo i soli in Europa in questa situazione.

Ci sarebbe poi una terza cosa, ma è un parere ancora più personale: questo non è un paese per chi usa il proprio cervello. Sarà anche per quello che molti fuggono. Presto, non ci sarebbe da stupirsi, si comincerà anche a cacciarli, anche se italianissimi.

As I write this it isn’t still clear how the regional elections will turn out, but two things are very clear.

The first one is that, as I feared in my previous post, the real country is very different from the country on the Net. You can have the best share for an event like Raiperunanotte, but if the gap between the numbers of those who try hard to search for information and those who prefer to use a totally passive approach stays this high, it is unthinkable to get different results from what is emerging.

The second one is that the turnout appears to be the first party. As I read yesterday, there were those who gave their lives to ensure the right to vote and freedom of democracy (and the Italians have forgotten too quickly why this has been needed): now, instead, because of laziness or indifference an increasingly larger proportion of the population decides not to exercise this right and not take any responsibility. An address I already did yesterday, I realize. We should understand that politicians don’t care who chooses not to vote, even if they are 90%: in the end, to be clear, they will have a chair, whether they are from the right or left wing. A shame. And it isn’t consolatory – for once – that we are not alone in Europe in this situation.

There would then be a third thing, but it’s a more personal opinion: this is not a country for those who use their own brain. Maybe it’s because of this that many flee. Soon, there should be no surprise, they will also start to drive them away, even if italians.

Dopo una campagna elettorale fatta, come al solito, di toni esasperati, di colpi bassi, di miracoli strategici, di interpretazioni ad hoc e di invasione dei media tradizionali, è giunto il momento di scegliere.

La mia speranza è che da queste elezioni regionali arrivi un segnale forte e che non sia possibile per i soliti mistificare. Mi rendo conto che ciò potrebbe essere inteso in – almeno – due modi distinti, ma chi mi conosce sa bene cosa voglio dire. Al tempo stesso, il timore è che ancora una volta si assista alla distanza che in passato si è vista tra paese reale e paese internet: sebbene sia ormai rimasta l’unica sorgente di informazione indipendente ad avere una certa rilevanza statistica, la Rete è ancora lungi dall’avere una penetrazione significativa e non credo sia un caso che ci siano resistenze in tal senso. Resistenze che, c’è da scommettere, svaniranno nel momento in cui si dovesse trovare un modo per controllarla. Ma in quello finiremmo per essere troppo simili alla Cina. E già lo siamo parecchio. Come dire, gli opposti si attraggono. Un’attrazione peraltro condivisa anche con altri “fulgidi” esempi di democrazia.

After an electoral campaign made, as usual, of exaggerated tones, low blows, strategic miracles, “ad hoc” interpretations and invasion of traditional media, it is time to choose.

My hope is that from these regional elections will come a strong signal that won’t be possible to be mystified by the usual ones. I realize that this could be interpreted in – at least – two different ways, but who knows me for real knows what I mean. At the same time, the fear is that once more will shine the distance – already seen in the past – between the real country and Internet country: although it’s now the only remaining source of independent information to have some statistical significance, the Net is still far from having a significant penetration and I don’t think it is a coincidence that there is resistances in this regard. Resistances, you can bet, will vanish when someone’ll find a way to control it. But this would end up utrning us too similar to China. And we already are a lot. As if to say, opposites attract. Attraction also shared with other “shining” examples of democracy.

Le regole ci sono e sono uguali per tutti. Che ci sia qualcuno che vuole continuamente piegarle a suo uso consumo (sempre i soliti, peraltro) è una cosa davvero scorretta e nauseabonda. In Italia comandano sempre i furbetti? Non si sa, per il momento sembrerebbe che chi sbaglia paga, almeno una volta. Ste toghe rosse vogliono proprio stare alle regole: una cosa davvero inaccettabile. Baluardi.

There are rules and they are equal for all. There is always someone (always the sames, by the way) who wants to bend them to his use: this is something really wrong and nauseous.
